NEW Action Steps for Students Who Hope to Do a Summer Internship

Students,

Participating in a summer internship takes some preparation, and now is the perfect time to start!

There are a few things that are different this year. You will need to do these two steps first – preferably before you start applying to positions, so you will be better informed when you do.

  1. Declare your intention to do a summer internship by completing the Internship Agreement any time before February 1st.
    • When the Agreement is received, you’ll be enrolled in the Internship Prep Course in Moodle.
  1. Complete all the required modules of the Internship Prep Course any time before February 15th.
    • The Prep Course replaces the previously required information sessions, and breaks down the multi-step process into more manageable segments.

These are requirements for all interns (including those who have done internships previously), and the modules will walk you through the process for receiving academic credit and funding. If you are unsure about whether you will pursue an internship, you should consider going ahead with these two steps by the dates shown, because it will be too late after February 15th.
