Annual Salary Range: $54,744 – $81,900
Are you looking for an opportunity to work with Tennessee State Parks (TSP)? We have an outstanding opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment at Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park in Nashville. The Park Ranger 1 position will be essential to providing management and leadership, safety and security, education, and administrative support for the park and its guests.
The preferred candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be comfortable working with diverse park guests, and be able to provide interpretative programming that is enjoyable to all. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; and must possess a bachelor’s degree, with preference given to those with a degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation, Criminal Justice, History, or a field related to the job. It is also required that candidates be a state-commissioned officer recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy or is willing to become commissioned. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Commissioned Officer to provide and maintain park safety and security, including law enforcement, first responder, and basic first aid services.
- Manage assigned operation responsibilities and assist with management of all operations and visitor services.
- Investigate complaints and reported offenses.
- Educate the public about the park’s natural, cultural, and historical resources through interpretive programs and events.
- Participate in community outreach programs by partnering with local businesses, area officials, and volunteers to promote the park, integrate the community, and impact economic development.
