Job Title: Accounting – Intern
Participate in work-based learning to include providing efficient and effective clerical support while preparing invoices, statements, and vouchers; reconciling accounts and posting to journals, general ledgers, and other accounting records based on standard accounting practices. Depending upon internship requirements, may complete a project and complete a presentation based on area of focus.

Performance Expectations

- OHSAS 18001: Health and Safety management system standard;
- ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard;
- TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
- Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
- Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
- Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements
- Maintain department 5S requirements.
- Enter A/R Payments and review outstanding invoices.
- Prepare monthly adjustments, reversing journal entries and accruals.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliation.
- Various month end duties completed by assigned deadline.
- Review accounting discrepancies with appropriate department. Generates required reports.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
Credentials
- Must be actively completing post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance

- Work in a well-ventilated, open concept office environment with adequate lighting and temperature.
- Standard office equipment will be used such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone, etc

- Required PPE includes steel-toe shoes, safety glasses with side shields, ear plugs, and gloves as needed.

- The employee may lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
