Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc. (WEST), a dynamic environmental and statistical consulting firm with offices across the United States and Canada, is looking for a temporary full-time, Data Entry and Office Admin Technician.

Key Details:

  • Compensation: $18-20/hour, DOE
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Location: Fort Collins, CO
  • Additional Details: 30 hours/week (Data Entry 20 hrs, Office Admin 10 hrs)

Job Summary:

The Data Entry and Office Admin Technician will support both the Statistics and Data Quality Team and the Fort Collins office manager.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Available to work in the Fort Collins office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Self-motivated, can work well independently as well as in team environments.
  • Pursuing a career in wildlife, environmental, biological, statistical, or a related field.

Essential Responsibilities:

Office administration (10 hours per week):

  • Filing, scanning, and archiving datasheets and other office files, as needed
  • Function as the receptionist including greeting guests and answering questions as well as maintaining the reception area.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and shipments.
  • When requested, coordinate office-wide social events, assist with holiday events, make travel arrangements for employees, and assist with conference logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned

Data entry support (20 hours per week).

  • Work cooperatively with and under direction of the data quality team personnel
  • Entering biological data into various databases and platforms
  • Digitizing spatial data into QGIS
  • Data QA/QC support
  • Assisting data curators and statisticians with additional data support, as needed

This is a general description of the functions for this position and is not inclusive of all the duties which may be associated with this position.

Requirements:

  • Experience with data entry and databases
  • Proficient with MS Excel
  • Strong interest in working with renewable energy data
  • Capable of appearing for work on time as scheduled
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and SOPs
  • Must interact professionally with coworkers, maintain a good attitude, and promote a positive office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods of time

After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and a DMV records check that meets WEST’s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver’s license will be required. Candidates must adhere to all health and safety requirements.
