Entry Level Annual Starting Salary: $30,972 (Overtime Eligible)

We have an outstanding opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment at Paris Landing State Park Golf Course in Buchanan, TN. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining all irrigation and drainage systems on the golf course and grounds, as well as assisting with the selection and application of all pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers used in grounds and golf course.
The preferred candidate will have experience operating irrigation systems and ensuring that these systems operate to standards that maintain high-quality turfgrass on the course. Candidates must possess an education equivalent to a standard high school diploma. Experience performing landscaping, irrigation, chemical fertilizer application, or golf course maintenance can be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Routine inspections for leaks and other potential maintenance deficiencies with the irrigation system, as well as checking the course for any possible improper irrigation.
- Participate in all aspects of golf course maintenance and may occasionally supervise crews for special projects.
- Participate in and/or supervise the mixing and spraying of herbicides, fungicides, and other plant-protective products, ensuring all chemicals are properly used and stored.
- Oversee the operation of a variety of tools and equipment, such as greens mowers, fairway mowers, tee mowers, chemical sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, topdressing machines, soil aeration devices, and other vehicles.
- Waters greens, tees, fairways, rough, lawns, and other areas as needed or scheduled. Monitors daily water usage and informs the Superintendent of any needed adjustments to the irrigation computer settings.
- Responsible for reading, understanding, and keeping current with the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and maintaining them in a central location.
- Maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations. Keep the chemical room clean and orderly; secures it under lock when not present.
- Attend applicable training seminars, classes, and trade shows to maintain current knowledge and certifications.
- Keep and maintain daily maintenance records.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
