Looking for an opportunity to work with a collaborative team at the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC)? The Division of Water Resources (DWR) has a position in our Knoxville Environmental Field Office (EFO) working in a diverse team environment with other EFO staff, as well as directly with our regulated community in a multi-county area. This position is responsible for collection and compliance review of operational data from a variety of water related treatment activities.
The ideal applicant possesses analytical and critical thinking skills to solve problems or accomplish tasks; works cooperatively and effectively with management, other division employees, and the public, organizes work, sets priorities, meets critical deadlines, and follows-up on assignments with a minimum amount of direction. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university/college in environmental science, engineering, biology, physical sciences, or other related environmental science fields. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Conduct assigned Sanitary Surveys of Public Drinking Water facilities, and compliance inspections of Wastewater Treatment facilities, Public Water Systems, and National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitted facilities.
- Provide technical assistance to operators regarding compliance with federal and state rules in support of the Safe Drinking Water Act and NPDES.
- Develop Enforcement Action Requests and evaluate/recommend corrective action to correct non-compliance issues; oversee adherence to compliance order requirements.
