BlackRock is looking for an analyst to join the U.S. Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team. This individual will help the U.S. GAPP team engage in critical public policy topics with internal and external stakeholders. As stewards of BlackRock’s brand and reputation, our team tells the firm’s story in a way that resonates globally and locally, builds relationships of trust, and enables positive outcomes for our business and clients.A successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, proven written and verbal communication skills, and a knack for process and project management in a fastpaced environment. The role will have great exposure and access to the senior leaders and
strategic initiatives of the Government Affairs team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation of high-quality materials, including briefing memos, presentations, speeches and talking points
• Track and analyze legislative and regulatory developments
• Support stakeholder engagement efforts, including outreach and event coordination
• Proactively build and manage relationships on behalf of the team with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with client teams to align commercial goals with public policy priorities
• Execute on (or oversee the execution of) action items and commitments following meetings
• Represent BlackRock in meetings and conferences as appropriate
• Establish and maintain relationships with policymakers and staff at various levels to ensure effective and ongoing communication with our partners in Washington, D.C. and throughout the U.S.
• Support ad hoc initiatives led by U.S. GAPP leadership, including scoping, planning, and delivering multiple, often fast-paced projects.
• Apply a strategic mindset to connect insights and activities across multiple initiatives and stakeholders
Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, 0 – 2 years of work experience
• Clear and effective communication skills to work directly across all levels of staff and management
• Demonstrated writing and research skills with an aptitude for strategic and creative thinking
• Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
• Interest in Public Affairs or Public Policy
• Proven proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
• Sound judgment, high ethical standards, and a desire to thrive in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment.
